Description
Asplenium Birds Nest Fern
Asplenium is a compact variety of Japanese Bird’s Nest Fern. It has a tall show of ruffled green shiny leaves. Asplenium ferns are naturally epiphytic, which means they grow on the surface of other plants. In their natural habitat of the rainforest they can be found growing high in the trees. These guys are a real eye catcher, a lovely addition to your Fern collection!
How to care for your Asplenium –
Water: Water thoroughly during the growing season but less so in the winter. Keep moist but do not allow to stand in water. Bird’s Nest Ferns are best watered around the plant and not directly onto the soil as watering the centre of the plant may cause it to rot.Â
Light: They like moderate, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight.
Humidity:Â They love humidity, would be well suited to a bathroom or kitchen.
Temperature: They enjoy warmth, about 20 degrees C.
